From the Principal's Lair:

It is with great pride and excitement that I write this letter of introduction to you as the new Principal of Alconbury Middle/High School.
A broad range of experiences has shaped who I am. After graduating from high school in a rural community in Washington State, I attended college on an Air Force ROTC scholarship. Following my military service, I built and sold a successful general contracting business and then returned to school to follow my lifelong dream of becoming a teacher.
It was at Central Washington University that I earned my certification to teach broad area business education, technology, and diversified occupations. Soon thereafter, I earned a Master of Science degree in educational leadership from Capella University.
My first teaching and administrative experiences were at my alma mater, Cle Elum-Roslyn High School. As I mentioned earlier, it’s a small rural school in Washington State that serves approximately 250 students.
I’ve also taught professional development to a wide audience of teachers - first at UCLA during summer sessions and then internationally in association with Oracle, a database software company. Most recently, I’ve served the students and staff of Mount Rainier High School as an assistant principal. Mount Rainier is a diverse urban school just south of Seattle, Washington, and serves approximately 1700 students.
I was honored to be named the 2009 Washington State Assistant Principal of the Year as well as one of three finalists for National Assistant Principal of the Year. I have a strong belief in giving back to the community I live in. As such, I’ve been a volunteer firefighter and EMT since 2005.
I’m the proud father of two wonderful children. My daughter, Brynne, will be a high school junior this year and my son, Coulson, will continue in college this fall as a cadet with Air Force ROTC Detachment 895.
Again, I’m excited to meet you and to begin working with you in service to the students of Alconbury Middle/High School.
