School Delayed Opening and Closure. We will soon be entering months of hazardous driving conditions. There will be times when the school opening will be delayed for two hours or be closed for the day because of weather or driving conditions. The determination of school delayed opening or closure is solely the responsibility of the the Base Commander. On days that school opening is delayed, buses will run two hours later than normal. The school does not notify parents. The procedure for notifying parents is through the normal military channels or company for contractors. When the Base Commander makes the decision to close or delay school, information is given to all commands who, in turn, notify their troops or employees. The principal of the school notifies only his staff members. If you want confirmation of delay or closure, the base maintains a telephone information line - 01480 824636 (or DSN 268-4636 ) Please share this information with all family members. When school is delayed, there are no provisions at school for students who arrive during the school closure time because teachers will also be delayed. The School Bus office is located inside Alconbury High School across the hall from the Main Office. If you are new to the area, please stop by the bus office before selecting a house to ensure it is on a bus route. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
